Senior Molly Stone went 3-for-3 with an RBI in her final
game for the Trinity Catholic softball but the Falcons
dropped a 14-3 decision at Matignon on Friday.
Senior Jennifer Smallwood went 2-for-4 and junior Hannah
McCaffrey was 1-for-3 as Trinity finished the season at 5-13
(4-6 Catholic Central League).
For the season, Stone tied for the team lead with a .431
batting average (25-for-58) and had 18 RBI, one home run and
a school record six hit-by-pitches to lead the team in the
last three categories. Nicole Civitarese also hit .431
(22-51) with 17 RBI (tied for second on the team), two
doubles and two triples while Emily Matthews hit .431
(25-58) as well and was third on the team with 16
RBI.??Lindsey Fitzgerald hit .359 (14-39 with 17 RBI while
Juliette Noonan led the team in runs scored with 27 runs and
drew a school record 34 walks.
The Falcons graduate four seniors: Stone (pitcher),
Smallwood (shortstop), Noonan (left field) and center
fielder Annie Peterson.
``These girls really have contributed immensely to the TC
softball program over the years,'' said TC coach Troy
Turick. ``They will surely be missed next year, however
their legacies will live on. I am so proud of the effort,
determination, and leadership they have provided over the
last four years. Each of them has brought something unique
to the team and the program and I cannot say enough good
things about the type of student-athletes they each
are.''

South Shore Christian 3, Trinity Catholic 2
Senior pitcher Marc Leger did not allow a hit after the
second inning, but by then the damage was done in a 3-2 loss
to South Shore Christian at Cabot Field.
The Falcons (12-6) fell behind early and could not make up
the deficit as they fell for the fourth straight game
heading into the state tournament.
Leger had two hits and two steals to lead the Falcons at the
plate, while striking out eight on the mound.
Trinity learns its Division 3 state tourney seeding on
Tuesday.
Softball
South Shore Christian 16, Trinity Catholic 7
The Trinity Catholic softball team got a strong effort
out of its four seniors during a 16-7 loss to South Shore
Christian in the final home of the season at Cabot
Field.
Senior pitcher Molly Stone pitched five innings, giving up
six hits, and went 2-for-4. Senior Juliette Noonan went
2-for-3 with two runs scored and two walks. Senior Jennifer
Smallwood went 1-for-3 with two runs scored and two stolen
bases. Senior center fielder Annie Peterson had a strong
game in the field and also had a walk and run scored.
Sophomore Kathryn Haggstrom was 3-for-3 with three RBI and a
walk, while sophomore Lindsey Fitzgerald was 2-for-3 with
two RBI and a walk.
Trinity (5-11) finishes the season at Matignon on
Saturday.
TRINITY CATHOLIC: Falcon golfers end regular season on
high note

Senior Tim Foley scored 18 of the Trinity Catholic golf
team's 35 points as the Falcons ended the regular season
with a 35-13 triumph over Pope John in Lynnfield
yesterday.
Trinity wound up the spring at 6-3 and in second place in
the Catholic Central League Small.
The Falcons do have a CCL All-Star event remaining next
Tuesday.
Baseball
Matignon 12, Trinity 1
Solid outfield defense from sophomore Kevin McAdam and
Kyle Manning and some superb plays at third base from senior
Marc Leger were not enough to carry the Trinity Catholic
baseball team to a season sweep of Matignon.
Matignon scored three runs in the second inning and three
more in the third, then was off from there with 15 hits on
the day.
``They needed a win for the tournament and they had a sense
of urgency that we couldn't match,'' said TC coach Craig
Genualdo.
Trinity (12-5) hosts South Shore Christian in a non-league
game tomorrow.
Softball
MSJA 19, Trinity 9
Junior Emily Matthews had three hits and senior Juliette
Noonan had three more walks in the Trinity Catholic softball
team's non-league loss at home to Mount St. Joseph's
Academy.
Matthews went 3-for-5 with a run, two RBI and a stolen base,
sophomore Lindsay Fitzgerald was 2-for-3 with three RBI and
two walks, and senior shortstop Jennifer Smallwood went
2-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI.
Noonan now has 30 walks on the season - breaking a TC record
previously held by Theresa Kerr (Class of 2008) - and has an
on-base percentage of .557.
The Falcons (5-11) face South Shore Christian tomorrow
