SCHOOL ROUNDUP
No-hitter boosts Trinity Catholic
By Peter Martin, Globe Correspondent | May 7, 2009
When Trinity Catholic needed a win to keep its momentum
going into the last few weeks of the season, it turned to
junior Mike Marchionda. He delivered yesterday, throwing a
no-hitter in a 7-0 win over Parker Charter, improving the
Falcons to 10-2.
"It was a lot of fun to watch," said Trinity Catholic coach
Craig Genualdo. "He really pitched well."
Marchionda was efficient, allowing just one runner on a
walk, while striking out eight.
The Falcons have five games remaining, and are two games
behind Lowell Catholic in the Catholic Central Small
Conference.
