Senior center Uche Egesionu scored 24 points to go along
with 14 rebounds and five assists as the Trinity Catholic
boys basketball team rolled to an 82-32 thrashing of South
Shore Christian in the opening game of the Trinity Catholic
vacation tournament last night.
It was Trinity's third victory of the season over South
Shore.
Senior Sterling McDowell-Ashe had eight points, five
rebounds and five assists, sophomore guard John Lopes had 17
points and 11 assists and senior Mark Porter had 12 points
and five assists for the Falcons.
Trinity (17-2) hosts Notre Dame of Lawrence in the title
game of the tournament tonight at Trinity Catholic High.
Girls Basketball
Nazareth 50, Trinity 43
Despite sophomore Dora Ocampo's 18 points, the Trinity
Catholic girls basketball team fell to Our Lady of Nazareth
for the third time this season in the first round of TC's
tournament yesterday.
Sophomore Hannah McCaffrey had eight points and seven
rebounds, junior Jennifer Smallwood had seven points and
freshman Nicole Civitarese had 10 points, 13 rebounds and
three steals for the Falcons.
Trinity finishes the season this afternoon in the
consolation game against Maimonides at 1 p.m.
