Senior Matt Foley had three goals and junior Tim Foley had
four points (goal, 3 assists), including the 100th point of
his career, as the Trinity Catholic hockey team finished the
season undefeated in the Catholic Central League Small with
a 6-3 victory over St. Clement on Saturday.
TC, which clinched the CCL title with a 3-2 triumph over
Bishop Fenwick on Wednesday, finished 7-0-1 in the CCL Small
and improved to 15-3-1 overall.
Foley became the second Falcon to top the 100-point mark for
his career this season after Matt Foley did earlier in the
year.
Devaney also praised the play of senior Anthony Kontos,
junior Nick Bullens and freshman Kevin McAdam.
Boys Basketball
Trinity 78, Lowell Catholic 54
Senior Uche Egesionu had 30 points to go along with 19
rebounds and eight assists as the Trinity Catholic boys
basketball team rolled past Lowell Catholic in its CCL
regular season finale Friday night.
Senior Sterling McDowell-Ashe had 20 points to go with six
rebounds and four assists. Senior Gregory Raye had 14
points, on 7-of-8 shooting, to go with five rebounds and
four assists. Sophomore John Lopes also contributed seven
assists, while senior Steven Burckardt had eight points and
six rebounds for TC (16-2).
Girls Basketball
Lowell Catholic 68, Trinity 42
Sophomore Hannah McCaffrey's 10 points and five rebounds
helped lead the Trinity Catholic girls basketball team in a
CCL loss to Lowell Catholic Friday night.
Freshman Nicole Civitarese had eight points and 15 rebounds,
while sophomore Dora Ocampo had 12 points and three assists
for the Falcons.
TRINITY CATHOLIC: Lopes' late shot lifts Falcons past
Matignon

Sophomore John Lopes hit a 3-pointer with 1:40 left in the
game that gave the Trinity Catholic boys basketball team its
first lead of the night in a 63-61 victory over host
Matignon last night.
The Falcons faced a five-point deficit heading into the
fourth quarter of the Catholic Central League contest.
Lopes and senior Uche Egesionu each scored 17 points with
Egesionu grabbing 11 rebounds and Lopes adding eight
assists.
Senior Sterling McDowell-Ashe had 10 points and six
rebounds, senior Gregory Raye had nine points and seven
rebounds and senior Steve Burckardt had six points.
The Falcons (15-2) host Lowell Catholic in the CCL finale
tomorrow night.
Girls Basketball
Matignon 44, Trinity 20
Sophomores Dora Ocampo, Hannah McCaffrey and freshman
Nicole Civitarese each had six points in the Trinity
Catholic girls basketball team's Catholic Central League
loss at home.
Civitarese also grabbed 10 rebounds on the night.
The Falcons travel to Lowell Catholic tomorrow.

Girl's Basketball
Cathedral 48, Trinity 33
Freshman Nicole Civitarese had nine points, five steals,
three blocks and 16 rebounds in the Trinity Catholic girls
basketball team's Catholic Central League loss on
Friday.
The Falcons held a 12-10 lead early in the second quarter
when Cathedral ran off 28 straight points from then until
the end of the third. But Trinity did outscore the hosts
21-10 in the fourth.
Sophomore Dora Ocampo had 12 points, three steals and four
assists and sophomore Hannah McCaffrey had four points,
three steals and nine rebounds
Boys Basketball
Austin Prep 62, Trinity 51
Senior Greg Raye had 12 points and five assists, while
sophomore John Lopes had 16 points and five rebounds, for
the Trinity boys basketball team as it was swept in a season
series against Austin Prep Friday night.
The Falcons (14-2) travel to Matignon on Wednesday.
